Our Story
Kiru Apothecary was founded in 2023 by mother-daughter duo Rabina and Sadauf – both passionate advocates of the potential of healing holistic therapies to restore balance between mind, body and soul.
Our intertwined wellbeing journeys led us here: the inspiration of three generations fused into a single passion, the essence of which filters into each and every one of our products.
Working with the highest possible percentage of organic ingredients, ethically sourced botanical oils and herbs, we uniquely formulate our essential oil blends on a basis of equal parts holistic therapy and science, handcrafting the finest natural healing remedies to support a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
A journey towards wellbeing
Rabina
Rabina’s interest in holistic living began in childhood in Kenya, where she lived a clean and pure life surrounded by nature.
“Eating home-grown fruit and vegetables and using botanical aids for healing, I was brought up immersed in a natural way of life. As a child – and to this day – my grandfather was my greatest inspiration. A locally renowned homeopath and herbalist, he taught me much about how the natural world can bring balance to our everyday lifestyles. Patients would come to him for natural medicine and I would watch closely as he prepared his formulas. It is my belief, as it was his, that food is medicine and botanical plants have the power to promote wellbeing and health.”
Sadauf
Sadauf has nurtured a keen interest in holistic healing since childhood, guided and inspired by mum Rabina.
“Growing up in the city and now juggling motherhood with a busy entrepreneurial life, I incorporate holistic rituals and remedies into my daily routine for balance and support. I understand uniquely the challenges of modern life: working in finance and brand consultancy as well as running my own wedding business, I turn to Kiru’s essential oil blends for their effective balancing properties, which help me stay on track in my many roles as mum, entrepreneur and as Kiru’s Wellbeing Ambassador.”
